The participation of the first two female drivers at the Italian F.4 Championship Powered by Abarth is confirmed. The two Pankiewicz twins, Polish, will race with the R.B. Racing Team and will also give the start to the Italian F.4 Women Trophy.
The starting grid of the Italian F.4 Championship Powered by Abarth continues to grow, and this time it does so with a “pink” participation. The two 15-year-old Pankiewicz twins have in fact confirmed their participation to the Championship.
Julia and Wiktoria have started their racing career 10 years old in Poland in the Rotax class and, in 2013, have debuted in the International Karting scene in the Junior KF class. The same year they have participated to the CIK-FIA Academy Series. In 2014 Wiki, because of her greater height, has shifted to KF, while Julia has continued in KF-J. Both girls have raced with Tony Kart chassis and LKE or Tm engines with the Forza Racing team and have disputed all the races of the WSK, the European Championship and the World Championship.
This year, in addition to the normal participation to the Championship, just like all their male colleagues, Julia and Wiki will definitely give the start to the Italian F.4 Women Trophy, an additional push and visibility element to support female drivers in their career. The Pankiewicz twins will be supported in their debut in formulas by the young team R.B. Racing, led by Marco Belletti, team manager with great experience in the world of karting competitions, where, by the way, he has worked for Birel SpA, now Birel ART.
Julia and Wiktoria will start immediately a number of tests in the month of April on the circuits part of the 2015 calendar of the Italian F.4 Championship Powered by Abarth. Testing will start at Monza circuit the 1rst and 2nd of April, and will continue in Vallelunga (7-8 April), the circuit of the first appointment of the Championship, and Mugello (14-15 April).
Marco Angeletti, Director of R.B. Racing comments: “We are enthusiasts to welcome Julia and Wiki in the team, as they have an excellent experience in international karting and the potential to become both very competitive also in formulas. They have a very professional approach to this sport and an excellent technical formation, facts that, together with their fastness and passion for motorsport, will allow us to make a good job. For a dynamic reality, as our company, Wiki and Julia also represent a great means of communication and on this point we are working with many interesting projects, in order to favor their path in the top categories. But for the moment our focus is on the challenging Formula 4 Italian Championship, where there will be very organized teams and high-value drivers as rivals.”
